CONFERENCE

All PRESENTATIONS and POSTERS at 15ICM must be in English.

All 15ICM presentations will be given in the College Playhouse at Womens College, The University of Queensland. The Playhouse has up-to-date audio-visual facilities and tiered seating for 150 people. (http://www.womens.uq.edu.au/home/inner.asp?pageID=4&mainID=0)

As with previous myriapodology congresses, the four days of presentations will be broken into sessions organised around topics such as systematics, development, ecology, anatomy and physiology. However, a theme of 15ICM will be the myriapod fauna of Asia and the Pacific basin. Presenters are encouraged to focus on this part of the world in their talks, when possible. Presentations on 'the smaller groups' (Onychophora, Pauropoda and Symphyla) will be integrated into topic sessions.

Most of the 15ICM talks will be 15-20 minutes (depending on the overall number of presentations). There will also be opportunities for 30-minute 'synoptic' presentations which broadly review recent research or summarise current knowledge on particular topics. Synoptic talks will replace formal keynote presentations at 15ICM and will be integrated into topic sessions.

Presentations should be in Microsoft PowerPoint format and can be given to the conference managers on CD-ROM or USB sticks at the time of the conference. Presentations will remain the intellectual property of the presenters and will not be archived or distributed by the 15ICM organisers. Users of OpenOffice Impress under Linux are encouraged to check their .ppt presentations on a Windows computer to ensure that all graphics and fonts have been carried over successfully to the PowerPoint format.

Posters will be on display at the conference venue throughout the 15ICM week. In addition, there will be a special poster-viewing session at which refreshments will be served and poster presenters will be on hand to discuss their work.

MIDWEEK TOUR

On Wednesday, 20 July 2011, conference registrants will be taken on an all-day coach tour of the Brisbane area's excellent nature reserves. The cost of the tour is included in registration, and partners are welcome to join the tour at AUD$25 per person. As currently planned, the tour will begin and end at the conference venue. The first stop and morning tea will be at the Walk-about Creek Wildlife Centre at The Gap, followed by a stop in subtropical rainforest (dry season) at Boombana. Lunch will be in eucalypt forest at Bunyaville State Forest Park. The last visit will be to coastal Melaleuca forest and mangroves in the Boondall Wetlands.

CIM business

The General Assembly of the CIM will be held on Friday afternoon, 22 July 2011 at the conference venue and will be followed by a meeting of the new CIM Council.

DINNER

15ICM will close on Friday evening, 22 July 2011, with a three-course dinner from 6 pm at the University of Queensland Staff Club (http://www.uq.edu.au/uqclub/conferences-events). The cost is AUD$80 per person and is not included in the conference registration.  However, all delegates are encouraged to attend. The evening will be lively and entertaining (and the CIM Secretary may again lead us in singing 'Le Mille-Pattes'...).

ABSTRACTS

Presentation and poster abstracts will be included in the 15ICM program book and must be submitted through this website by 25 February 2011.

PROCEEDINGS

Presenters are encouraged to submit a written version of their talk for publication in a special issue of the open-access journal ZooKeys (http://pensoftonline.net/zookeys/index.php/journal). A print copy of this issue is included in the 15ICM registration cost. Colour images can be submitted and will be included in the online version, but please note that the print version will be black-and-white only. The deadline for submission of manuscripts is 30 September 2011.
